At once vibrant and brooding. This vintage is savory with cracked black pepper, dark fruits, black tea, dark plum, mocha, cherry cola, spice and a hint of caramel. The mouth is racy with vibrant acidity and welcoming and caressing like a big, warm hug. This pinot is grippy, encompassing and beautifully integrated. It’s fascinating!
Situated high on the southern flank of the mountain range defining the western edge of Sonoma Valley, Wildcat Mountain Vineyard lies just outside and above the Los Carneros appellation at 600-750’ above sea level, it sits on well-drained soils of volcanic origin, exposed to the full brunt of fog and cold airflow that streams off the upper reaches of San Pablo Bay.
